Here are the easy steps you must go through to create your character:
Step 1) Choose a Name for your character.
Step 2) Choose a Race for your character. This is an important part
of creating your character because it will determine which Classes
you can choose from. A Race is also important because it has effect on
your character's Ability Scores (how strong he/she is, how smart, etc).
On the right half of your screen is a list of adjustments each Race has
on each Ability Score, and also a list of the available Classes of that
Race.
Step 3) Choose your character's Sex, either Male or Female.
Step 4) Your Ability Scores are determined by the computer. Here is a
breakdown of what your stats are:
STR: Strength. How strong your character is. Affects Damage.
CON: Constitution. How healthy your character is. Affects Hit Points.
DXT: Dexterity. How agile your character is. Affects being hit.
WIS: Wisdom. How much common sense your character has. Affects Spells.
INT: Intelligence. How intelligent your character is. Affects Spells.
CHA: Charisma. Your character's personality and looks. Affects Prices.
Step 5) Choose your character's Class. Displayed on the right half of
the screen are all the available Classes your character can be. Scroll
through the list and choose.
Step 6) The computer now determines your character's Hit Points and
the amount of Gold he/she has.
Step 7) Select a Quote to use when you begin a Battle, and when you win
a Battle.
Step 8) Purchase Armour and Weapons, and use the (C)hange Weapons option
to Arm yourself.
Race Advantages:
Each Race has certain Advantages and Disadvantages. When one stat (like
STRENGTH) has bonueses, other stats have penalties. Keep an eye out for
each race's strengths and weaknesses.
Class Advantages:
Fighter: Fighters are the hulking combat-oriented characters.
*Mages : Though weaker at first, they cast nasty spells as well as
attack with weapons.
*Clerics: As with Mages, they cast Spells; but are also immuned from
Lycanthropy.
Thieves: This sly class is great for pilfering other player's Money.
Ranger : A Combat-Oriented class, with a good weapon use skill.
Paladin: A Lawful Fighter with some hidden abilities.
* A note on Spells, for every Spell cast, the player's Hit Points are
lowered by the level of the spell. If a Mage casts a Level 1 Flame
Finger Spell, his Hit Points are decreased by 1.
